Drawing in the Everson
A Free Traveling Figure Drawing Event
OFD Inc. presented a
Third Thursday traveling drawing session at the
Everson Museum on April 15th. This unique event was orchestrated by Pam McLaughlin (the Everson's educational coordinator), Susan Nathan, and the OFD board.
The model, Michael, took the small modeling stand (illuminated by our new boom light, compliments of a
Community Foundation Grant). We abandonded our usual schedule of poses, to make it more accessable for people dropping in and leaving as needed, and opted for shorter poses throughout the night. Almost all of the easels were in use by figure drawers. Some new to figure drawing were pleased to find out about us and are eager to attend our regular sessions, on Wednesdays, as well.
The Art Store (Commercial Art Supply) donated paper, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners for everyone. Snacks and refreshements were donated by the Everson. Susan brought along a cake to celebrate her birthday. Ed and his daughter Eve played the Everson's grand piano and sang a variety of popular and show tunes.
This was OFD's second
traveling drawing session of 2010. We hold these special sessions in order reach a larger audience. Tell your friends and family to join Open Figure Drawing's ongoing celebration of drawing, every Wednesday night at the
Westcott Communtiy Center, and during
special events like this one!
